Snowshoeing

Experience winter hiking in Zell am See-Kaprun from its most beautiful side. Where there are hiking routes in summer, there are numerous snowshoe and winter hiking trails in winter. Whether a guided tour or an expedition on your own, there is hardly a more beautiful alternative than exploring the snow-covered winter landscape on a winter hike.

You will find some winter hiking trails on the promenades of the Zeller lakeshore as well as directly at the lake. Most of the paths are prepared for hiking and snowshoeing. If you want to go high up, for example on the Schwalbenwand, it is best to take snowshoes. Without them you’d sink in the fresh powder snow. There are also guided winter hikes on the Schmittenhoehe and the Kitzsteinhorn. You can find an overview of the scheduled dates at www.zellamsee-kaprun.com. Reservations are sometimes necessary.
