Top activities at Lake Zell
Water means fun and we have plenty of it at Lake Zell. Whether liquid, frozen or evaporating on a foggy autumn day – a day at the water fills the batteries again. We have a total of four lidos from which you can start countless activities in the water: SUP (Stand Up Paddle), water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing or boat tours on pedal and electric boats.

BATHING PLACES AT LAKE ZELL
Around Lake Zell there are several opportunities to hop into the water. For those who enjoy swimming near a restaurant, there are 4 public lidos to choose from:
- Lido Zell am See
- Lido Thumersbach
- Lido Maishofen
- Lido Schüttdorf
In addition to the public lidos around the lake, there are numerous free bathing areas:
- Haus Gabi (in Thumersbach with 2 beach volleyball courts)
- Park Thumersbach
- Yachtclub Zell am See
- Wieshof (Thumersbach with 1 beach volleyball court)
SUP
The SUP courses on Lake Zell always start at 9.00am. A registration is always required. Beginner’s SUP courses aswell as tours across the lake are very popular and start at 40 euros. The SUP centre also offers yoga on the lake every Sunday in July and August. Windsurfing is also on the programme. WATER SKIING
The water sports activities of Edis Water Ski School include water skiing, wakeboarding, giant banana, water hoops, parasailing and a few more. The meeting point is always the Thumersbach lido at the Kurpark. In the summer months (May to September) there is daily operation. Water fun is guaranteed!

BOAT TRIP ON LAKE ZELL
A trip around Lake Zell with the MS Schmittenhöhe is definitely a must. The trip itself takes about 50 minutes. You are well looked after on board. On the roof of the MS Schmittenhöhe you can enjoy the impressive mountain world that stretches from the Steinernen Meer over the Schmittenhöhe to the Kitzsteinhorn.
During the summer months of July and August, the boat departs every full hour.
- First boat: 10.00am
- Last boat: 5.00pm
Depending on the weather and also demand, the MS Schmittenhöhe also organises romantic evening cruises in the summer months.

BOAT RENTALS
There are several providers of pedal boats and electric boats on the lake. The most central provider is Scheicher Boote directly on the Esplanade in the centre of Zell. There you can rent pedal boats, electric boats and rowing boats on an hourly basis. During the trip you can enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery + a nice view of Zell am See’s old town. BEACHCLUB
A dreamlike ambience with top service and tasty food – the Beachclub definitely belongs on the bucket list of every gourmet who is looking for proximity to the water. The beach club is located right next to the lido in Thumersbach, so a bathing suit is a must if you go for a lunch or dinner at the Beach club!
