MITTERBERG

Cycling in Zell am See

A beautiful and perfect beginner’s bike trail for the start of your holiday – from Zell am See to the Mitterberg. First you cycle along Lake Zell on a specially created cycle path to Thumersbach. The route is asphalted up to the Mitterberg Gasthof and is pleasant to cycle. After a good 10 kilometres and 450 metres of altitude gain, you have earned your Kaiserschmarrn at the Gasthof Mitterberg – a top panorama with an incredible view all the way to the Kitzsteinhorn is on top of it.

TAUERNRADWEG

Krimml Waterfalls

With the new guest card, the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn can be used free of charge. The starting point of the bike tour is Zell am See station or Fürth station coming from Kaprun. Then take the train to Krimml. From the Krimml Waterfalls you start in the direction of Mittersill through the Salzachtal back to Zell am See. Along the way there are numerous places to stop for refreshments, many bathing lakes and plenty to discover. You can also do the route the other way round. SONNBERG / JAGAALM

Above the rooftops of Zell am See to the Jaga Alm and back via the Sonnberg. There are several variants for this bike trail in Zell am See. Kaprun – Stangerbauer

From Kaprun via the Schaufelberg to the Stangerbauer or the Glocknerblick. The Stangerbauer offers the first opportunity to stop for refreshments. If you are not out of breath after almost 350 metres in altitude, you should definitely continue to the Glocknerblick. It’ll take an extra hour to reach the Glocknerblick. HUNDSTEIN

bike trails in Zell am See - Hundstein

The longest and probably also most demanding mountain bike trail in Zell am See. With a total of 40 kilometres (there & back) and 1340 metres of altitude difference, the tour starts in Zell am See and goes first to Thumersbach. The route goes nicely uphill on asphalt until just below the Enzianhütte. Shortly before the hut, the MTB route to Hundstein begins. If you want to recharge your batteries before the strenuous and long ascent, a stop at the rustic hut is a good idea. Once you reach the summit, the Statzerhaus awaits you with a catered hut and a fantastic view.
